Maple tubing recovery offered at Rigaud ecocenter
In order to provide a collection point on the territory, the MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulanges announces that used tubing from the region's maple groves will be accepted at the Rigaud ecocenter located at 32, rue de la Coopérative, from November 11 to 17, during regular business hours.
To ensure that these materials are properly accepted and recycled, we ask you to :
1. Remove the spindle and related metal parts;
2. Separate master pipes from 5/16” tubing. Connected plastic fittings and flashlights are accepted;
3. Make sure the tubing is clean: free of paint, other plastics or contaminants.
contaminants.
Please note that heavy vehicles and tractors are not allowed on site, that unloading will be done manually, and that collection is free, but may be refused if tubing is not properly prepared.
The maple syrup tubing recovery program offers maple syrup producers the option of recycling their used tubing. In collaboration with the maple syrup industry (equipment manufacturers), municipal organizations and recyclers, this initiative is once again making progress towards achieving “zero plastic waste” in landfill sites.
Once recovered, the tubing will be transformed into a variety of objects: agricultural drains, plastic containers, carpets, park accessories and tree stakes.
